Spike Jonze
Biography
Adam Spiegel, who goes by the name Spike Jonze, was born on October 22, 1969. He is an accomplished American director, producer, and actor known for his diverse contributions to music videos, commercials, film, and television. Jonze is particularly recognized for his fruitful collaborations with screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, which include the iconic 1999 film Being John Malkovich and the 2002 work Adaptation. Additionally, he directed the acclaimed 2009 film Where the Wild Things Are. Beyond his film projects, he played a significant role in the creation and production of MTV's Jackass as a co-creator and executive producer. Currently, Jonze serves as the creative director for VBS.tv. He is also a co-owner of the skateboard brand Girl Skateboards, alongside professional skateboarders Rick Howard and Mike Carroll.
Moreover, Jonze co-founded the Directors Label, a collaborative project with fellow filmmakers Chris Cunningham and Michel Gondry, which highlights the works of innovative directors. His multifaceted career and distinctive style have made him a prominent figure in contemporary cinema and pop culture.
