In this subtly poignant Western, a young boy is brought up by two fathers, one hailing from Eastern Europe and the other from the American West. As the 20th century approaches, on the rugged American frontier, Igor, a recent widower and immigrant, faces the challenges of raising his two-year-old son, Ivo, alone. When his American friend and mentor, Duncan, opts to relocate his horse-breeding operation and family to California, Igor and Ivo decide to accompany the wagon train heading westward.
