Former tough guy Frank Barron, now suffering from Alzheimer's, struggles to remember who he is. When his estranged son, Jamie, finds him in a hospital, he recognizes the toll the illness has taken and decides to rescue his father. Their journey across the country becomes a chance for reconnection, but as they travel together, unresolved issues from their pasts resurface, challenging both men to confront their shared history.
