Set in 1892 Death Valley, Borax mining faces a dire crisis as dwindling yields threaten the company’s future. The key to salvation lies in a rich deposit, and Skinner Bill Bragg holds a pouch of it, acquired from a deceased prospector he recently buried. Stag Roper recognizes the potential fortune but aims to secure the claim for himself, keeping Bragg in the dark.
