In "The Paper," Henry Hackett, a dedicated editor at a bustling New York City tabloid, is passionate about his work. However, the demands of his job, coupled with meager pay, are causing frustration. Meanwhile, the tabloid's publisher, Bernie White, is grappling with financial difficulties. To cope, he enlists the ruthless Alicia Clark, Henry's adversary, to enforce unpopular budget cuts that threaten the integrity of their publication.
