Anthropologist Max Scarry vanishes during research on a hidden New Zealand tribe on a secluded island. His wife and twin brother, Edward, are left bewildered, especially as local police suspect one of them in the murder of a prostitute, found clutching a tribal charm identical to one from Max's deserted hut. Adding to the mystery, Max's daughter narrates with unsettling visions that hint at a supernatural menace and her uncle's destiny. Determined to uncover the truth, Edward ventures to the island, but the deeper he delves, the more dangerous and incomprehensible the mystery becomes, culminating in shocking revelations.
