Heidi, a troubled Australian teenager, is forced to flee her home after being discovered with her mother’s boyfriend. Seeking refuge in the tourist town of Jindabyne, she meets Joe at a local bar and begins to explore a romantic connection. As Heidi attempts to establish a semblance of stability through employment and a new living arrangement, her relationship with Joe faces significant challenges.
