Wilson Walmsley takes a substitute teaching position at a troubled suburban high school, only to confront rampant chaos and disrespect among students and staff. Struggling to gain authority, he bonds with arts teacher Louise and a bright but mistreated student, Joey. After intervening to protect Louise from a predatory student, Walmsley faces legal fallout and escalating violence. In a twisted turn, he kidnaps Joey and six other unruly students, imprisoning them in his remote Texas property.
