After three years of wandering the globe as a ship's doctor, Ichiro Takeo reflects on his troubled past in Japan, where a tragic medical mistake led to the death of a prominent politician. Discharged from his position, he finds himself approaching Kinmon Island in Taiwan, memories flooding back of Yan, a local girl who had helped him heal during his darkest days. As conflict looms, their long-buried feelings resurface, and the two navigate the challenges of war while reigniting their once-cherished romance.
