Maisie Ravier, a sharp-tongued showgirl, is stranded in a small Wyoming town after her show abruptly ends. Her troubles begin when ranch foreman Charles "Slim" Martin wrongly accuses her of stealing his wallet. Despite the rocky start, she secures a job as a maid for ranch owners Cliff and Sybil. The couple is trying to repair their strained relationship following Sybil's affair with a cowboy, and Maisie's presence adds both tension and comic relief to their efforts at reconciliation.
