Ann E. Todd, originally named Ann Todd Phillips and later known as Ann Basart or Ann Phillips Basart, was born on August 26, 1931, and passed away on February 7, 2020. She began her career as a child actress, making her debut in the 1939 film *Zaza*, directed by the renowned George Cukor. Over the next 14 years, Todd appeared in nearly 40 films, sharing the screen with iconic stars such as Ingrid Bergman, Shirley Temple, James Stewart, Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck, and Marlene Dietrich. To distinguish herself from the established British actress Ann Todd, she adopted the middle initial "E."
From 1950 to 1953, Todd became a well-known face on television, starring in *The Stu Erwin Show*. However, she eventually chose to step away from the entertainment industry, transitioning into a career in education. In her later years, she became a respected music librarian, sharing her passion for music and literature with others.
