Lila Kaye (November 7, 1929 – January 10, 2012) was a distinguished English actress known for her versatile performances on both stage and screen. After spending several years in the United States, where she made a mark on Broadway and in television, Kaye returned to her native England, continuing to build her impressive career.

Kaye was particularly recognized for her roles that embodied motherly figures and comedic characters, often appearing in notable television productions. She gained recognition for her compelling performance in the groundbreaking drama "Cathy Come Home" (1966), portraying a staff member at a homeless shelter. In "My Son Reuben" (1975), she starred alongside Bernard Spear as a Jewish mother managing a dry-cleaning business with her bachelor son.

Her film career featured several memorable roles, including appearances in "Blind Terror" (1971), "The Black Panther" (1977), and "Quincy's Quest" (1979). Kaye's later works saw her shine in "An American Werewolf in London" (1981), where she played a conflicted barmaid, and in the comedy "Nuns on the Run" (1990) as a formidable nun. She also portrayed Dorothy Ireland in the American television film "Reason for Living: The Jill Ireland Story" (1991), showcasing her dramatic range. Additional credits include her role as Mrs. Pennington in "Bert Rigby, You're a Fool" (1989) and as Mrs. Cosgrove in "Dragonworld" (1994), highlighting her enduring presence in the entertainment industry.
