Born in Indiana, Jeremy Jordan honed his artistic talents at a Chicago arts school before gaining widespread recognition in 1992. He captured the hearts of audiences when his music video for "The Right Kind of Love" premiered on the iconic teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210. This exposure helped propel his 1993 album, "Try My Love," to achieve gold certification. Despite this musical success, Jordan chose to focus primarily on acting.

He appeared in a range of television films, such as "Boys Will Be Boys" (1994) and "Twisted Desire" (1996), showcasing his versatility as a performer. His film career took a notable turn when he appeared in the critically acclaimed drama "Leaving Las Vegas" (1995), directed by Mike Figgis, which went on to win an Academy Award. However, it was his role in Gregg Araki's "Nowhere" (1997), the final installment of Araki's "teen apocalypse trilogy," that allowed Jordan to embrace a more edgy character.
