Christopher Lee (May 5, 1922 – June 7, 2015) was a celebrated English actor and musician whose career spanned over seven decades. Renowned for his portrayals of iconic villains, Lee gained widespread acclaim for his unforgettable performance as Count Dracula in a series of Hammer Horror films. His versatility shone through in other significant roles such as Lord Summerisle in the cult classic The Wicker Man (1973) and the menacing Francisco Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974). He also captivated audiences as Count Dooku in the Star Wars prequels (2002, 2005) and as the dark wizard Saruman in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–2003).

Beyond his memorable villainous characters, Lee regarded his portrayal of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, in the biographical film Jinnah (1998) as his most significant work. With an extensive filmography that includes over 266 films since his debut in 1948, Lee holds the Guinness World Record for the most film acting roles in history. In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the arts, he was knighted in 2009 and honored with the BAFTA Fellowship in 2011.
