Justin Edwards
Biography
Justin Matthew Edwards, born on July 21, 1972, is a talented English actor, comedian, and writer. He gained prominence for his portrayal of Ben Swain in the BBC’s satirical series, The Thick of It, and took the lead in the short-lived Channel 5 sitcom, Respectable.
Edwards boasts an impressive television resume, featuring appearances in acclaimed shows such as Black Books, Endeavour, The Suspicions of Mr Whicher, The Old Guys, Skins, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Fast and Loose, The Trip, Veep, Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, and Black Mirror, among numerous others. His exceptional performance in Father Brown’s episode "The Daughters of Jerusalem" earned him a Royal Television Society Award for Best Male Actor in 2014.
He has also portrayed the character Jeremy Clarkson on three separate occasions: twice in Harry & Paul and once in Murder in Successville. In 2016, he took on the role of Mr. Rumbold in the BBC's revival of Are You Being Served?
On the big screen, Edwards has played notable roles, including Charles Vernon in Love & Friendship, Spartak Sokolov in The Death of Stalin, and John Forster in The Man Who Invented Christmas. He also appeared as a bumbling policeman in both Paddington and Thor: The Dark World, among other film credits.
Originally from Southampton, Hampshire, Edwards studied Drama at the University of Manchester before refining his craft at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. He is married to fellow comedian Lucy Porter, and together they have two children.
