Richard Gross

Biography

Richard Gross, hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was born to a Welsh immigrant mother and a local father. In the 1960s, his family relocated to Los Angeles, where he completed his education at Lennox High School. Pursuing his passion for the performing arts, Richard earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

In 1979, he moved to Grass Valley, California, where he became involved with the Foothill Theatre Company, contributing to the vibrant regional theatre scene in nearby Nevada City. After a brief hiatus, Richard returned to Los Angeles in 1991 to reignite his career in television and film, while maintaining a residence in Northern California alongside his wife, Judy, and their daughter, Alexis. The couple also has two sons, Matthew and Justin.

Richard is not only known for his artistic talents but also for his athletic accomplishments. He achieved an impressive 8 handicap in golf and was crowned club champion in 2011. Additionally, he showcased his competitive spirit at the World Senior Games, where he earned a Gold medal in softball and golf. Throughout his career, Richard has participated in over 70 comedic skits on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," further solidifying his reputation in the entertainment industry.
