Holly Patricia Hunter, born on March 20, 1958, is a distinguished American actress renowned for her compelling performances across film and television. Over her illustrious career, she has garnered numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In recognition of her contributions to the entertainment industry, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008.

Hunter achieved significant acclaim for her portrayal of Ada McGrath in the 1993 film The Piano, which earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress.
