He gained widespread recognition for his memorable roles, particularly as Jack "Nighthawk" Killian in the series *Midnight Caller* and as the iconic Bill Lumbergh in the cult classic *Office Space*.
In 1984, Cole showcased his dramatic range by portraying the lead character, Green Beret Army Officer Jeffrey MacDonald, in the true crime miniseries *Fatal Vision*.
