Biography
Patrick Bashir Baladi is a prominent English actor renowned for his diverse roles across television, film, and stage. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Neil Godwin, the rival to David Brent, in the acclaimed BBC mockumentary series The Office, which he featured in during its second and final seasons, including the memorable Christmas special.
Born in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, Baladi comes from a unique background; his father was a Syrian gynaecologist and obstetrician, while his mother worked as a midwife. His childhood was spent in Libya, and he later received his education at Stonyhurst College. Following his schooling, he pursued his passion for acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Baladi's impressive body of work extends beyond The Office. He has appeared in a myriad of television series and films, showcasing his versatility with roles in Bodies, Kidnap and Ransom, where he played Philip Shaffer, and the romantic comedy Last Chance Harvey alongside Emma Thompson. Notable appearances also include productions like Stella, Line of Duty, and Midsomer Murders. Additionally, he portrayed Dodi Al-Fayed in the docudrama Diana: Last Days of a Princess.
