Biography

Wai Wang (Chinese: 韋弘; November 3, 1936 - 2010) was a prominent Taiwanese actor renowned for his contributions to the film industry. Initially performing in Taiwan under the stage name "Xiao Lin" (Little Lam), he rebranded himself as "Wu Bin" in 1968. His breakout role in the film *The One-Legged Dragon* marked a significant turning point in his career, leading him to join the prestigious Shaw Brothers studio, where he adopted the name Frankie Wei.

During his seven-year tenure with the Shaw Brothers, Wang gained recognition for his compelling portrayals of villains and his roles in numerous erotic thrillers directed by Lu Chi. His performances captivated audiences and showcased his versatility as an actor.

In 1979, Wang ventured into directing with the film *Lewd Lizard*, marking his first foray behind the camera. This move demonstrated his ambition to expand his artistic expression. However, he chose to retire from the film industry in 1984, leaving behind a legacy that influenced many in the realm of Taiwanese cinema.
