Ralph Brown
Biography
Ralph William John Brown, born on June 18, 1957, is a renowned English actor and writer celebrated for his diverse roles across film and television. He gained notoriety for his portrayal of Danny, the drug dealer, in the cult classic "Withnail and I." Brown has also appeared in significant roles such as the security guard Aaron, also known as "85," in "Alien 3," DJ Bob Silver in "The Boat That Rocked" (also known as "Pirate Radio"), and Del Preston, the enthusiastic super-roadie in "Wayne's World 2." He brought to life the character Ric Olié, the pilot in "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace," and played Henry Clinton in the acclaimed series "Turn: Washington's Spies."
In addition to his acting career, Brown has made his mark as a playwright. He received The Samuel Beckett Award in 1987 for his debut play "Sanctuary," which was produced by the Joint Stock Theatre Company. His talent for screenwriting became evident when he won the Raindance and Sapporo Film Festival awards for his first screenplay, "New Year's Day," in 2001.
