KAORI (川菜翠), born on February 28, 1976, in Yokohama, Kanagawa, is a talented Japanese voice actress and singer. Prior to adopting her stage name in January 2001, she performed under the names Midori Kawana (川菜翠) and Akiko Kawana (川菜明子). The name "KAORI" cleverly combines parts of her real name, Ka-wana and Mid-ori.
Throughout her career, KAORI has made significant contributions to the voice acting industry, most notably for her role in various dubbed versions of the beloved anime series Pokémon, where her vocal talents were highlighted in the film "Pokémon: Jirachi Wishmaker," particularly when her character performed a soothing lullaby.
In addition to her voice acting, KAORI is also a member of the rock band SpunkyStrider, showcasing her versatility as both a vocalist and performer. Her work spans multiple genres and formats, reflecting her dynamic presence in the entertainment world.
