Stephen Weaver Collins, born on October 1, 1947, is an American actor and writer who gained prominence through his notable television and film roles. He is widely recognized for portraying Eric Camden on the long-running WB/CW series *7th Heaven*, which aired from 1996 to 2007. In addition to this iconic role, Collins played Dayton King in the ABC series *No Ordinary Family* and Gene Porter in NBC's *Revolution*. His film career includes a memorable performance as Commander Willard Decker in the 1979 classic *Star Trek: The Motion Picture*.
