Christopher Maurice "Chris" Brown, born on May 5, 1989, is a renowned American R&B artist, songwriter, dancer, and actor. He burst onto the music scene at the young age of 16 with his self-titled debut album, Chris Brown, released in late 2005. The album featured the chart-topping single "Run It!", which made Brown the first male artist since Montell Jordan in 1995 to have his debut single reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The album achieved significant commercial success, selling over two million copies in the U.S. and receiving a double Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

In November 2007, Brown launched his second studio album, Exclusive, which produced two major hits: his second number one single, "Kiss Kiss" featuring T-Pain, and "With You," which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The album also saw the release of a deluxe version, The Forever Edition, with the lead single "Forever" arriving in May 2008, reaching number two as well. Exclusive was certified Platinum by the RIAA.
