Arthur "Art" Balinger (February 1, 1915 – June 10, 2011) was a prominent American actor celebrated for his extensive work in television during the mid-20th century. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Balinger initially embarked on his career as a radio announcer before making the leap to television acting. His distinctive voice and presence quickly garnered attention, leading to roles in several popular series.
Balinger became closely associated with the productions of Jack Webb and his company, Mark VII Limited. He appeared in iconic shows such as *Dragnet*, where his contributions helped define the police procedural genre, and *Emergency!*, showcasing his versatility as an actor. His performances during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s left a lasting impression on viewers and solidified his status in the television landscape.
