Biography

Javier Cámara Rodríguez, born on January 19, 1967, is a distinguished Spanish actor renowned for his versatile performances in both film and television. He gained international acclaim through his collaborations with celebrated director Pedro Almodóvar, featuring prominently in films such as "Talk to Her" (2002), "Bad Education" (2004), and "I'm So Excited" (2013). Cámara also captured audiences’ attention with his role as José in the popular Spanish television series "7 Vidas" (Seven Lives), which solidified his status in the entertainment industry.

Hailing from Albelda de Iregua in La Rioja, he pursued his passion for acting by relocating to Madrid, where he graduated from the Dramatic Art School. Early in his career, he worked as an usher at the Figaro Theatre, eventually making his theatrical debut in "El caballero de Olmedo" in 1991.

Cámara’s impressive range extends to notable television roles, including Cardinal Bernardo Gutierrez in HBO’s "The Young Pope" and Guillermo Pallomari in the third season of Netflix’s "Narcos," where he portrayed the chief accountant of the infamous Cali Cartel.
