William Boyett
Biography
William Boyett, originally named Harry William Boyett, was born on January 3, 1927, in Akron, Ohio, and grew up in Waco, Texas. His family relocated to Los Angeles in the early 1940s, where he began to cultivate his passion for acting. After serving in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Navy during World War II, he pursued higher education at the University of Southern California. His career took off after he won a Shakespearean competition in high school, leading him to radio acting before transitioning to stage productions in New York City and Los Angeles.
Boyett gained fame for his television roles, most notably as Officer Ed Wells on the iconic series *Adam-12* (1968), as well as appearances in *Hôpital Central* (1963) and *Highway Patrol* (1955). His diverse talents also included a stint as a weather forecaster on KCEN-TV Channel 6 in Waco-Temple, Texas, during the early 1950s.
Throughout his life, Boyett was married twice, first to Joan Reynolds and later to Willagene Wither. He left behind two children, Suzy and Kevin. William Boyett passed away on December 29, 2004, in Mission Hills, California, leaving a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry as both an actor and a beloved figure on television.
