Roy Barcroft, originally named Howard Harold Ravenscroft, was an American character actor known for his portrayals of villains in B-Westerns and various other film genres. Born on September 7, 1902, Barcroft enjoyed a prolific career, particularly during his time with Republic Pictures, where he appeared in over 300 films between 1937 and 1957. His commanding presence and distinctive performances made him a recognizable figure in Hollywood.
Among his notable roles, Barcroft played the marshal in the classic musical Oklahoma! in 1955, showcasing his versatility as an actor. Additionally, he portrayed Colonel Jim Logan in the beloved television series The Adventures of Spin & Marty, which aired from 1955 to 1957, further solidifying his status in the entertainment industry.
