Eijirō Yanagi was born on September 16, 1895, and passed away on April 24, 1984. A distinguished figure in Japanese theater, Yanagi's contributions to the arts were recognized with several prestigious accolades during his lifetime. In 1966, he was honored with the Medal with Purple Ribbon, a testament to his significant achievements in the field. Four years later, in 1970, he was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Fourth Class, further cementing his status as a prominent cultural icon.
