Harriet Sansom Harris
Biography
Harriet Sansom Harris, born in Texas, discovered her passion for acting at a young age. At the age of seventeen, she was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. Following her graduation, she became a member of The Acting Company, a renowned repertory ensemble founded by the early graduates of Juilliard's Drama Division, where she honed her craft for three years before transitioning to regional theater.
Harris's breakthrough came with her role in the original Off-Broadway production of "Jeffrey," a celebrated play by Paul Rudnick that explored love during the AIDS crisis. This performance catapulted her into the television spotlight, most notably as Bebe Glazer, the shrewd and eccentric agent of Frasier Crane in the iconic series "Frasier" (1993). Her portrayal earned her critical acclaim and a lasting place in television history.
In addition to her work on "Frasier," Harriet garnered praise for her character Vivian Buchanan in the CBS sitcom "The 5 Mrs. Buchanans" (1994). While she resides primarily in New York City, Harris frequently travels to California for various film and television projects, continuing to leave a significant mark on the entertainment industry with her dynamic performances and versatile talent.
