Ana Ularu
Biography
Ana Ularu is a talented Romanian actress and director, renowned for her captivating performances across film, television, and theater. Her journey in the performing arts began at the tender age of 9, as she showcased her skills in French films such as "Meurtres par procuration" and "Passion Mortelle." After completing her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Acting from the National University of Theatre and Film "I.L. Caragiale" in Bucharest, Ularu established herself in the industry, with credits spanning over 50 productions including short films, feature films, and television series.
Ularu has collaborated with esteemed Romanian New Wave directors like Cãlin Peter Netzer, Cristian Mungiu, and Radu Muntean, while also featuring in notable international projects directed by Oscar laureates such as Francis Ford Coppola, Susanne Bier, and Ron Howard. Her remarkable performance in the 2010 film "Outbound" earned her several accolades, including the 'Boccalino d'Oro' at the Locarno Film Festival and the "Best Actress" award at both the Thessaloniki Film Festival and the Cinema City Festival in Novi Sad.
In television, she portrayed the Wicked Witch of the West in NBC’s "Emerald City" (2016) and starred alongside Keanu Reeves in "Siberia." Currently, Ularu plays Eva Stellenbosch in Amazon's series "Alex Rider" and is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix series "Tribes of Europa."
