Gérard Lanvin, born on June 21, 1950, in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, is a celebrated French actor renowned for his compelling performances and a recipient of the prestigious César Award. At the age of 17, Lanvin made the bold decision to abandon his academic pursuits in favor of a career in acting. His professional journey began in earnest with a role in the 1977 film "Vous n'aurez pas l'Alsace et la Lorraine," a project that came his way through the encouragement of fellow actor Coluche.
Lanvin's talent was recognized early on, earning him the Prix Jean Gabin in 1982 for his poignant performance in "Une étrange affaire." His career reached new heights in 1995 when he won the César Award for Best Actor for his role in "Le Fils préféré."
