John Hardress Wilfred Lloyd CBE, born on September 30, 1951, is a distinguished English producer and writer renowned for his significant contributions to television. His illustrious career spans several iconic shows, including the satirical Not the Nine O'Clock News, the beloved science fiction series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the politically charged Spitting Image, the historical comedy Blackadder, and the brain-teasing quiz show QI. Currently, he hosts the thought-provoking program The Museum of Curiosity on BBC Radio 4.
In recognition of his outstanding achievements in broadcasting, Lloyd was honored with the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) during the 2011 New Year Honours.
