Bill Irwin
Biography
William Mills Irwin, born on April 11, 1950, is a multifaceted American actor, choreographer, clown, and comedian. He started his career as a vaudeville-style performer and became a pivotal figure in the revival of the American circus scene during the 1970s. Irwin's talents have graced both film and television screens, earning him acclaim, including a prestigious award for his performance in the classic play "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?".
In addition to his acting, Irwin has made significant contributions to Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Choreography in 1989 for the production "Largely New York." He is widely recognized for his role as Mr. Noodle on the beloved segment "Elmo's World" from Sesame Street, where he also featured in the short film "Does Air Move Things?".
Irwin has had a notable presence on television, portraying Dr. Peter Lindstrom on the long-running series "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and the chilling character known as "The Dick & Jane Killer" on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." More recently, from 2017 to 2019, he played Cary Loudermilk on the FX series "Legion," further showcasing his versatility as an entertainer.
