Biography
Marie-Josée Croze, a talented Canadian actress born on February 23, 1970, in Montreal, Quebec, also holds French nationality, which she acquired in December 2012. After being adopted, she was raised in Longueuil alongside four siblings. Croze pursued her passion for the arts by studying fine arts at the Cégep du Vieux Montréal from 1986 to 1987.
Her career gained significant traction when she won the Genie Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role at the 21st Genie Awards for her captivating performance in Denis Villeneuve's film *Maelström* (2000). Croze's acclaim continued with a prestigious Best Actress award at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival for her role in *The Barbarian Invasions*. She has worked with renowned director Steven Spielberg, appearing in his 2005 film *Munich*.
In 2007, she showcased her versatility as an actress in Julian Schnabel's adaptation of *The Diving Bell and the Butterfly*, where she portrayed a speech therapist.
