Biography
Stephen Glenn Martin, widely known as Steve Martin, was born on August 14, 1945, in Waco, Texas. Growing up in Southern California, he was influenced by his experiences working at Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm, where he honed his skills in magic and comedy. His career took off when he began writing for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, which opened doors for him as a regular guest on The Tonight Show.
In the 1970s, Martin became a sensation with his unique brand of absurdist comedy, performing to enthusiastic audiences across the nation. As he transitioned into the 1980s, he shifted focus from stand-up to various artistic pursuits, achieving remarkable success as an actor, playwright, musician, and composer. His versatility is evident in his acclaimed performances in films such as "The Jerk," "Father of the Bride," and "Planes, Trains and Automobiles."
