Garry Chalk, born on February 17, 1952, in Southampton, Hampshire, is a talented British-born Canadian actor and voice artist, holding dual citizenship in the U.S. and Canada. He is particularly renowned for his role as Optimus Primal in the Transformers franchise, captivating audiences in both Beast Wars and Beast Machines, as well as voicing Optimus Prime in the Unicron Trilogy. His extensive filmography includes appearances in notable films such as The Fly II, Freddy vs. Jason, Deck the Halls, Watchmen, and Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins.

Chalk's theatrical journey began in 1978, and he has graced the stages of prominent Canadian theatre companies, including the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company and the Arts Club Theatre Company. His live performances feature roles in productions like A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Henry IV, and As You Like It.
