Michiyo Yasuda, originally named Michiyo Okusu (大楠 道代), was born on February 27, 1946, in China and has made a significant mark in Japanese cinema as an accomplished actress. Her most notable achievement came in 1981 when she received the Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role award for her compelling role in the film Zigeunerweisen.
