Biography

Ernest Thesiger, CBE, was a prominent English actor known for his remarkable work on both stage and screen. His most celebrated role came in 1935 when he portrayed the eccentric Dr. Septimus Pretorius in James Whale's iconic horror film, The Bride of Frankenstein. Thesiger's unique blend of charm and sinister charisma made him a standout in the film, solidifying his reputation as a formidable character actor in the genre.

Born on 15th March 1879, Thesiger enjoyed a diverse and dynamic career that spanned several decades. He initially gained recognition on the London stage, where his theatrical prowess captivated audiences.
