Biography
Benito Martinez, born on June 28, 1971, is a talented American actor renowned for his portrayal of Captain David Aceveda, who later becomes a city councilman, in the critically acclaimed FX crime drama, The Shield. Beyond his television fame, Martinez has lent his voice to various characters, including Coyote Smith in the video game Killer7, Professor Candide in Vanquish, and multiple roles in the PC game Age of Empires III. He also made an impression as a criminal in the cult classic series Firefly.
In the realm of film, he played a boxing manager in the Oscar-winning movie Million Dollar Baby and made a brief appearance as Salazar in Star Trek: The Next Generation. His acting training took place at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), where he shared classrooms with fellow actors Zen Gesner and Julie Hesmondhalgh. Martinez is also known for his role on the series Saving Grace, where he portrays the husband of a forensic detective. Hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and of Guatemalan descent, he possesses an advanced certificate in stage combat from LAMDA. Notably, his sister, Patrice, is also an actress.
