Biography
Andrew Lewis Prine, an accomplished American actor, was born on February 14, 1936, in Jennings, Florida. After completing his education at Miami Jackson High School, he embarked on his acting career just three years later with a performance in an episode of the television series United States Steel Hour. Prine's talent quickly garnered attention, leading him to the bright lights of Broadway, where he took on a role in the 1959 production of Thomas Wolfe’s Look Homeward, Angel.
His notable film career began to take shape in 1962 when he was cast as James, the older brother of Helen Keller, in the critically acclaimed movie The Miracle Worker, which was nominated for an Academy Award.
