Biography
Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel, widely recognized as Seal, was born on February 19, 1963. This British singer, whose roots trace back to Nigeria and Brazil, has captivated audiences worldwide, selling over 20 million records. Among his most iconic hits are "Crazy" and "Killer," the latter achieving number one status in the UK charts. However, it is his 1994 classic "Kiss from a Rose" that remains his signature piece, showcasing his exceptional and soulful vocal talent.
Over the course of his illustrious career, Seal has garnered numerous accolades, including three Brit Awards, with the honor of Best British Male awarded in 1992. He has also celebrated four Grammy Awards and an MTV Video Music Award, highlighting his significant contributions to the music industry. As a notable songwriter, Seal has received two Ivor Novello Awards from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors for his tracks "Killer" and "Crazy."
In addition to his music career, Seal showcased his mentorship skills as a coach on "The Voice Australia" in 2012 and 2013, returning to the show for another season in 2017. His personal life includes a high-profile marriage to supermodel Heidi Klum from 2005 until their divorce in 2014, during which they welcomed three children together, along with Seal adopting her daughter from a prior relationship. The distinctive scars on Seal's face are a result of discoid lupus erythematosus, a skin condition related to lupus.
