Biography
Anne-Marie Rose Nicholson, professionally known as Anne-Marie, is a talented singer and songwriter hailing from England. She gained widespread recognition through her impressive collaborations on chart-topping singles, most notably Clean Bandit's "Rockabye," along with her own hits like "Friends," "Alarm," and "Ciao Adios." Anne-Marie's journey into the performing arts began at the age of 12 when she starred in the West End production of 'Whistle Down the Wind.'
In addition to her early theatrical pursuits, Anne-Marie dedicated herself to karate, competing at high levels and earning accolades, including double gold medals at the Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association World Championships in 2002 and 2007, and a gold medal at the UK Traditional Karate Federation National Championships. She believes that the discipline and focus she cultivated through karate have been instrumental in her music career.
Her musical path took off with the release of her debut EP 'Karate' in June 2015, which included the successful singles "Karate" and "Gemini." In 2016, her breakout single "Alarm" solidified her place in the music industry, and her collaboration with Clean Bandit on "Rockabye" further propelled her into the limelight. Anne-Marie's debut album, 'Speak Your Mind,' was released on April 27, 2018, featuring popular tracks like "Cry" and "Then," establishing her as a prominent figure in contemporary pop music.
