Biography
John Peter Sarsgaard, born on March 7, 1971, is a prominent American actor known for his diverse roles across film and theater. He made his feature film debut in 1995 with "Dead Man Walking," followed by notable performances in independent films like "Another Day in Paradise" and "Desert Blue" in 1998. That same year, he gained wider recognition for his role as Raoul in "The Man in the Iron Mask." Sarsgaard's breakthrough came in 1999 with his portrayal of John Lotter in "Boys Don't Cry," leading to his first leading role in "The Center of the World" (2001). His performance in "Shattered Glass" earned him the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actor and a Golden Globe nomination.
