Biography

Beatrice "Beatie" Edney, born on 23 October 1962 in London, is a distinguished English actress known for her significant contributions to television and film. She hails from a talented family, being the daughter of acclaimed actress Sylvia Syms and the cousin of musician Nick Webb.

Edney gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Heather MacLeod in the iconic 1986 film Highlander, a role she reprised in the 2000 sequel, Highlander: Endgame. Her impressive acting skills were further showcased in 1987 when she starred in the BBC adaptation of The Dark Angel alongside the legendary Peter O'Toole. In 1990, she appeared in the film Mister Johnson, directed by Bruce Beresford, sharing the screen with notable actors Pierce Brosnan and Edward Woodward.

Her television career is marked by numerous memorable performances, including a leading role in the 1986 series Lost Empires, based on J.B. Priestley's novel, opposite Colin Firth.
