Jennifer Michelle Lee, born Rebecchi on October 22, 1971, is a prominent American filmmaker and playwright, renowned for her significant contributions to animation. From 2018 to 2024, she held the position of chief creative officer (CCO) at Walt Disney Animation Studios, making history as the first woman to occupy this role. Lee's groundbreaking work as a writer and co-director on the animated blockbuster Frozen (2013) and its sequel, Frozen 2 (2019), solidified her status in the industry. Frozen won her an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, highlighting her exceptional storytelling abilities.
Lee made history once again as the first female director of a feature film at Walt Disney Animation Studios, and she is celebrated for directing two films that each grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
