Jane Therese Curtin, born on September 6, 1947, is a celebrated American actress and comedian, widely recognized for her distinctive deadpan delivery. She gained significant fame as one of the original cast members of Saturday Night Live when the show launched in 1975. Her remarkable talent earned her two consecutive Emmy Awards for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in the 1980s, thanks to her portrayal of Allison "Allie" Lowell on the beloved sitcom Kate & Allie.

Curtin continued to showcase her comedic prowess in the critically acclaimed series 3rd Rock from the Sun, where she played the intelligent and witty Dr. Mary Albright.
