Biography
Lafe McKee, originally named Lafayette Stocking McKee, embarked on his career in the film industry in Hollywood circa 1913. He often portrayed the amiable father figure of the lead female character, the troubled businessman facing adversity, or the ranch owner at risk of losing his property and livestock to nefarious characters. A significant portion of his filmography consists of westerns, where he frequently shared the screen with notable actors such as Gary Cooper, John Wayne, Gene Autry, Tim McCoy, and Tom Tyler, among others.
