Biography
Richard Armitage, born and raised in Leicester, England, is a celebrated actor known for his diverse roles across film, television, and theater. He received his early education at Pattison College in Coventry before honing his craft at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Armitage's on-screen journey began with a minor role in the film *This Year's Love* (1999), but it was his portrayal of the quirky John Standring in the BBC series *Sparkhouse* (2002) that truly launched his career, showcasing his talent alongside Sarah Smart.
Following this breakthrough, Armitage appeared in guest roles on popular shows such as *Cold Feet* (1997) and *Between the Sheets* (2003). His performance as Steven in *Frozen* (2005) marked another significant milestone in his career, paving the way for his iconic role in the BBC's hit drama *North & South* (2004), which solidified his status as a prominent actor.
