Matthew Robert Smith, born on October 28, 1982, is a distinguished English actor celebrated for his dynamic performances across television and film. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the Eleventh Doctor in the beloved BBC science fiction series *Doctor Who*, a role he held from 2010 to 2013. Smith's talent continued to shine as he depicted Prince Philip in Netflix's acclaimed historical drama *The Crown* (2016–2017), earning a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award. More recently, he has taken on the role of Daemon Targaryen in HBO's *House of the Dragon* (2022–present), further solidifying his status in the industry.
